Hello world!

Finally after travelling for 1 month it’s time for writing my first blog-post. I was thinking if I should tell you the story of the policemen that tried to give us a fine of 150 euros because of public laundry, or inform you about the feeling of waking up in a dog toilet… but I decided not to. I like to dedicate this post partly to my friend Shu Jan. We both started our world journey with different aims, Shu Jan found out after a few weeks that travelling was helping him to reach his goals but that he was taking the local road instead of the highway. So he decided to go back to the Netherlands. I find it a pity, but I respect his choice and wish him the best for everything. I really like to thank him for all his knowledge he shared about cooking, culture and for the great time we had together! Because of him it was possible to try out sleeping on the street and cooking in front of the supermarket! Awesome! Thanks.

So now there’s a place free in this vehicle of adventure. If you like to travel a few weeks or months with me, let me know. The cuisine, the medicine closet and the laundry machine are already on board. If you bring a backpack with some clothes and equipment to sleep & shower, you’re welcome!

As a farewell present I got a “don’t panic’ towel from my co-workers of WCC which, they told me, was really clever to take with me because you could use it for a lot of things (see http://www.towelday.kojv.net/). I found out another way to use your towel efficient. If you like to reduce your energy bill, purchase this towel. When cooking rise, after the water is cooking put off the fire and throw the towel over the pan. Iit will be ready within 15 minutes without using a lot of energy! Thanks for the gift! It’s really helping me.

Ok, for the all the people that I met during the way that were begging me to mention their names in my post.. send me your name by email and I will think about it :)

I’m now in Lisboa getting ready to hitchhike back to the direction of Sevilla and then to Gibraltar for finding boat to the Caribbean. Wish me a lot of luck, lots of people already told me that’s impossible.. Let’s see.

Peace and joy!

Peter

THANKS

Hey everyone,

Thanks for all the support until now! It´s really touching to see all of our friends supporting us.. It really gives us strength and happiness =)
Anyway, the trip until now has been incredible. More crazy things have happened to us in 3 days here than 6 months back home. We´re now in a cybercafe in a small town in Spain, and were heading to Barcalona in a few minutes. We haven´t really have an opportunity to write this all down, but soon we will update our blog with our adventures.
Once again, we really really really appreciate your support, and we certainly think of you.So don´ worry, soon there´ll be more posts.

We´ll keep it up,

- Shujan & Peter
